Meeting with a Librarian via Zoom

OCOM Library staff members are available between the hours of 9AM – 5PM Monday – Friday for virtual reference meetings. OCOM students and faculty can book a meeting in advance by using our appointment booking system, or you can request a meeting immediately by using your OCOM Zoom account.

First, sign in to your OCOM Zoom account. Then go to your contacts page, and search for “Librarian,” and click on the OCOM Librarian account.

If the librarian is available, you’ll see a green dot next to their name; a red dot means they are in a meeting, and an uncolored dot means they are not currently online.

If you’d like to initiate a meeting, click on the “Meet with Video” icon. You will enter a virtual waiting room until a librarian is available to meet with you.

You can also select the “Notify Me When Available” option if you don’t want to wait around in the waiting room, but you want a librarian to get back to you as soon as possible.

While you are waiting, make sure that your camera and speakers are working and enabled!
