Steps to Finding Journal Articles

BEFORE you do anything, check out the Getting Started menu on the library homepage. Every service I talk about or link to here can also be found under this menu -- it has all the major links you'll need when trying to find journal articles.

If you need to find some journal articles and would like to use the databases from off-campus, then you will first need to go to the Databases page. Once you get to the databases page, simply click on the database you would like to access. You will then be prompted to log in using your last name and library barcode number.

If you have found an article you want, but there is no full-text access, you can check the A-to-Z Journal Title List. Search for the journal title (for example, American Journal of Chinese Medicine) -- this will directly link you to any full-text access we might have.

If there is NO full-text access, then you will need to log in to the library website (using your OCOM Gmail credentials*) and submit an Interlibrary Loan request.

*NOTE: If you are trying to log in to the library website (for videos and Interlibrary Loan requests) and have too many failed password attempts, your IP address will be blocked and you will not be able to use the library website. This will reset after five minutes, so if you do get blocked, just wait five minutes and try again. If you are still blocked, please call me and I can manually unblock your IP address.
